Bacteria mineralized the rocks; they deposited the iron. They made the geology we see. – Bonnie Bassler
Nature never leaves you alone and is always there with more and more spectacular places, so is Oravakallu rock garden. A perfect place to escape from city life, the garden offers lots of peace and astounds view, the garden is situated in Kurnool district which is around 230 km from Hyderabad, a 4.5 hours journey. When I went to Kurnool this weekend I have to opt from Kurnool Fort and rock garden since it was too hot outside we can visit just one place in the evening, so finally rock garden won. The route to rock garden from Kurnool is fantastic, it took me just 40 min to reach there, there were very few tourists in the garden. The place is maintained by Andra Pradesh tourism and they have their cottages their, I just wished if I could have booked my cottage here rather than a hotel in Kurnool.
Oravakallu rock garden has nothing to explore but it has lots of things to offer, it is a stunning site with abundant rocks that are formed naturally. These rocks are a rare silica and quartz rock formation, which are formed around a natural lake in the middle of the site that enhances the beauty of the place. We went up to one of the rock nearby lake and enjoyed the sunset, there are stairs built for climbing up and the pathway to guide you. Garden is maintained well by AP Tourism with a restaurant at the entrance and cottages spread across the garden.
