Muzaffarpur is the 4th largest city of Bihar and leading producer of litchi. It is a beautiful city with different culture and vegetation. It is popularly known as the “city of Litchi”. The city has several precious temples of Hindu with great spiritual value. The City gave multiple gems in the field of Hindi litrature like Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Janki Vallabh Sastri, Devki Nandan Khatri, Ramavriksha Benipuri and many more. Ramna Devi Mandir (Temple)

The temple is located in the heart of the city and is very popular in the region nearby to the city. The main deity of the temple is Maa Durga. People come from far places and take blessing from Goddess Durga. The temple is the main center of attraction during Navratra. There is a lord shiva temple next to Durga temple.  People come here and meditate for Lord Shiva.

Visiting Timing:

Temple opens from 6:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It remains closed between 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Photography is not allowed inside the complex of the temple.

BanglaMukhi Temple

Banglamukhi temple is a very famous temple of Muzaffarpur. It is almost 250 years old temple. The main deity of this temple is “Maa Banglamukhi”, another form of goddess Durga. This temple also attracts people from the different region near Muzaffarpur. This temple also remains flooded with devotee during Navratri. The temple has the statue of 4  different God:- Goddess BanglaMukhihi ( Tripursundri), Goddess Tara,  Lord Hanuman and Lord Maha Kaal Bhairav.

Visiting time:

Temple opens at 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It closed between 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again opens at 4:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. You can take photos here.

Jubba Sahni Park

Jubba Sahni park is another center of attraction and the park is very near to Ramna Devi temple. As city have no other park so this park is very famous among every age group.  Park is well maintained and got its name from the great martyr “Jubba Sahni”. Park has a play section for kids with several swings. You can find good seasonal flowers here and multiple artificial animals are created to make it more attractive.

Baba Garib Sthan temple

Garibnath temple is a lord Siva temple. This temple is very famous in the state and people come here to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva.  This temple is crowded throughout the year but in the month of Shravan (Hindi calendar) August thousands of devotee come to his temple and worshiped Lord Shiva.

Best time to go:

Throughout the Year, but avoid Shravan (August) since its overcrowded at that time.

Ram Mandir (Sahu temple)

This is the temple of Lord Ram and his wife Goddess Site, one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu. This is a beautiful temple, build by Rajasthani artists.  There is a pond near to temple which was made for the devotee to self-clean them before going to temple. Temple was built by Shiv Prasad Shahu. Temple has also a Mahadev Shrine, it is the third largest Shivlinga in India.  Devote comes from the different location and offer to pray here.

If you are in this city there are some Hotel/Restaurant or food you must try. Below are some recommendations you must try.

Litchi

If you are in Muzaffarpur during May and June, you should taste the litchi. Its litchi is world famous, it is the leading litchi producer of India and its litchi are also exported to other countries. Make sure you don’t take it empty stomach as it is not recommended by doctors.

Bharat Jalpan

Bharat Jalpan is one of the most famous restaurants in the city. It is famous for Pure Ghee sweets, snacks, and food in this city.  Dosa, samosa and almost everything is very delicious and finger licking. I will recommend you to must go and taste the best food. This restaurant is located at SaraiyaganjMuzaffarpur. 

Upvan Pavbhaji

The city has multiple good restaurants but I bet you will get best Pavbhaji here. Upvan Pavbhaji is more than decades old, every person, who comes in this city must taste Upvan authenticate Pav bhaji.  Vegetables and species all are mixed so well and the smell of bhaji is so good. This shop is at Aghoria Bazar Chowk. It is very famous place in Muzaffarpur. You can take an auto, rickshaw to reach this place.

The Park Hotel

The park hotel is a good family restaurant. There is a dish “Roti ki tokri” if you are going with family you must order this. In this dish, you will find all types of Roti. This Hotel is next to Jubba Sahni Park.

Sudha Dairy

One more thing, I would like to suggest you is “Sudha dairy” very famous in Bihar. All the products of this dairy the just amazing. Sweets, Lassi, Milk, Paneer, Peda, and Balushahi. The dairy made almost all sweets and all sweets are finger licking. So if you are in this city must taste the product and carry the product to your home and lets everyone have the flavor of Bihar state.
