Charminar

When we listen the name of Hyderabad, the very first thing that comes in mind is Charminar. Charminar was built in 1591 CE by Muhammed Quli Qutb Shah, the 5th Sultan, Qutub Shahi Dynasty. It took almost one year to complete. It is said that it was built to commemorate the end of the plague. It is a good example of Islamic architect. It is made up of Lime-mortar and Granite. There is a mosque at the top floor of Charminar. Charminar is surrounded by four similar structure. There is a very good market “Lad Bazar” near Charminar. It is said that “Lad Bazar” was settled by Muhammed Quli Qutb Shah at his daughter’s marriage. There is “Mecca Masjid” nearby Charminar. It is a replica of Arab Mecca Masjid.

Visiting time: Visiting time is 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Entry Fee: 5 RS for Indian Nationals/ Rs. 100 for Foreign nationals. There is extra ticket worth 25 Rs for video camera.

Salar Jung Museum

Salar jung Museum is a great collection of art object. The museum is on the southern bank of River Musi. It has artistic achievements of diverse European, Asian and Far Eastern countries of the world. Most of the objects are acquired by Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan popularly known as Salar Jung III. The zest of acquiring art object continue as family tradition till three generation.

Visiting time: Visiting time is 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It opens 6 days in a week except for Friday. It is closed on Friday.
Entry Fee: The entry fee for Salarjung Museum is Rs 10 per person, while for children it is Rs. 5 per person. For foreign tourists, the ticket price is Rs. 150 per person.

Nehru Zoological Garden

National Zoological park in Hyderabad was established in 1959 and was opened for public in 1963. It is the largest zoological park of India which you will surely feel once you visit, so spacious, every animal is kept in ample amount of space. The most enjoyable part will be lion safari where you can see lion, tiger roaming just around your van. Try to get the first safari so that you can have high chance to view wildlife later due to disturbance and of course timing, animal will not be seen to act.

Visiting time: Visiting time is 8:30 Am to 4:30 PM.
Entry Fee:The entry fee for Zoo is Rs.15 for children below 12 years of age while for adults it is Rs.30. The trucks for shooting are allowed inside at the charge of Rs.1500. The Camera fee at Zoo Park Hyderabad is Rs.20 for still camera and Amateur video camera.

Golkonda Fort

Golkonda fort is Located merely 11 Km west of Hyderabad. It is built in the 1600’s. It was once considered to be home to a vault containing the ‘Hope’ and ‘Kohinoor’ diamonds. There was a time it was a great fort but now you can see only ruins of this fort. “Mosque of Ibrahim“, “The Baradari” “The Do-Minar“,”Taramati Mosque“,”Ambar Khana“, “Rani Mahal” are famous construction inside the fort. The government of Telangana organized Sound and light show.
Visiting time: Visiting time is 9:00AM to 5:30 PM.

  • 1st Show English (All Days)
  • 2nd Show in Telugu on Monday, Wednesday & Friday
  • 2nd Show in Hindi on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday.

Ramoji Film City

The Ramoji Film City is owned by great producer Ramoji Rao, it is 2000 acres, it is the largest integrated film city in the Telangana and the largest studio complex in the world. The film city was also certified by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest Film Studio complex. It was set up by Ramoji Group in 1996.
